VIPAR Heavy Duty Young Leaders Forum to Feature Northwood’s Frank Morgan During 2017 Annual Business Conference

For the fifth consecutive year, the 2017 VIPAR Heavy Duty Annual Business Conference will feature a Young Leaders Forum and Lunch Tuesday, Oct. 17. The event brings together young industry leaders for networking and collaboration and will include a presentation by Frank Morgan, adjunct professor at Northwood University on “Leadership for 2020 and Beyond.”

“The data is convincing that the leadership practices that were successful in the past 20 years will not be sufficient for the next decade,” said Morgan, who in addition to his teaching duties is the president of Morgan Associates LLC. “The aftermarket will see massive changes in customers, technology, markets, competition and suppliers at an increasing rate.”

Morgan says this new reality has been tagged as “a VUCA world” (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous). His presentation will explore this new future and help young leaders understand how to succeed in this new environment.

In addition to the luncheon, a Young Leaders reception will be hosted with GenNext – an industry group composed of the up-and-coming leaders of tomorrow in the aftermarket truck parts industry. Speed mentoring, a feature introduced at last year’s reception is back by popular demand. The speed mentoring session gives young leaders the opportunity to ask questions of industry veterans to gain insight and advice on how to be successful in the independent heavy duty aftermarket.

The VIPAR Heavy Duty Annual Business Conference Oct. 15-20 at the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes, is an action-packed week that will feature updates on the organization, technology solutions, new products and program opportunities. The structure of the week includes the annual stockholder meeting, a general session, trade show, more than 1,500 one-to-one stockholder/supplier partner meetings, as well as networking events.
